A serious accident in the opening Extreme Supercars driven by Dunlop race on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at Killarney International Raceway forced race officials to cancel the remainder of the scheduled sixth round of the National Extreme Festival race meeting

Marcel Angel lost control of his Autohaus Angel Ferrari as he approached the final turn. His car flew through the air before crashing through the boundary wall and coming to rest in the entrance to the waste transfer station across the road. Despite the best efforts of the rescue and medical crews, Marcel passed away in the incident.

The Extreme Festival management team extends its condolences to Marcel’s family and friends on their loss.
