Calendar change sees Extreme Festival welcome Gqeberha back to the regional tour

The  Extreme Festival tour’s regional roster will return to Aldo Scribante Raceway in Gqeberha in 2026 with a late change to the previously communicated calendar announced on Monday, 19, January.

Initially, the coastal visit of the regional tour programme was set to see the Autódromo Internacional de Maputo make its delayed maiden appearance on the calendar. However, due to circumstances beyond the tour’s and its partnered racing series’ control, a change was forced, marking the regional roster’s return to Gqeberha for the first time since September 2023.

While some series on the roster, such as the ATE VW Challenge, DOE Formula Vee Partnered With CIM Lubricants, and Dunlop V8 Supercars, had previously included coastal rounds in their calendars, the Extreme Festival formalised the inclusion of away races in 2023, with the various coastal-province circuits alternating each season. In 2025, Maputo was scheduled to host a round, but was replaced by East London, while Cape Town hosted the 2024 edition. Apart from the above-mentioned series, the 2026 trip, which will still take place on the weekend of 7-8 August, will also see the BMW ///M Performance Parts Race Series, DigitFMS 111 & GT Sports & Saloons, and SuperHatch fields join the action.

The revised regional tour calendar will see visits to:

7 March – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria
16 May – Red Star Raceway, Delmas
13 June – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria
8 August – Aldo Scribante Raceway, Gqeberha
12 September – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria
10 October – Red Star Raceway, Delmas
21 November – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria

The change will see the Aldo Scribante Raceway host the Extreme Festival twice in 2026, with the unchanged national calendar seeing the tour visit Gqeberha on 27 June, with the full calendar remaining as:

14 March – Killarney International Raceway, Cape Town
18 April – Red Star Raceway, Delmas
23 May – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria
27 June – Aldo Scribante Raceway, Gqeberha
15 August – East London Grand Prix Circuit, East London
19 September – Killarney International Raceway, Cape Town
17 October – Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria
